Appearance

Mashiro's character sheet

Mashiro is a young teenage girl below average height and weight, and is described to be tiny by her peers. She has long, straight blonde hair which reaches down to her hips, usually tied in twintails. She has light purple eyes.

Mashiro is usually seen wearing a normal Kunahama school uniform for first-year students, which consist of a black short sleeved shirt, a sailor-like blue collar and a yellow ribbon hanging from it, with "Furry balls" hanging from the ribbon, as well as a navy blue-colored skirt which her shirt tucks into. She also wears black stockings and black general Grav-shoes.

In her Flying Suit, Mashiro wears a white suit that exposes her thighs, and there is also a yellow collar and a yellow ribbon hanging from it. The colour yellow also appears on various places on the suit, including her chest, stomach, gloves and legs. She then wears white pants, or leggings.

Otherwise, Mashiro is seen with casual clothes, usually a small short-sleeved white shirt and a pink cardigan over it.

In the visual novel, she would wear her glasses whenever she was in her own classroom.

Personality

She is a cute, cheerful and lively underclassman-- she honestly expresses what she feels. She is also earnest and also strongly opinionated. At times though, she can be childish and tends to do child-like facial expressions. Mashiro is also an otaku and a gamer and is very reserved about what she feels.

Background

In the visual novel, she used to be introverted and short-spoken and usually alienated in the classroom because of her gaming. When she was eating alone in the courtyard, Misaki, a stranger that time, wanted her food and they became friends over that. After that event, Mashiro became obsessed with Misaki as she sees Misaki as her "princess". Mashiro also became much more sociable and extroverted after this event.

Mashiro joins the Flying Circus (FC) club to stay close to Misaki Tobisawa, whom she deeply admires. Her family owns and operates "Mashiro Udon," a restaurant run by her mother, Botan Arisaka.

Mashiro would frequently invite Misaki to eat udon at their restaurant because she believed Misaki loved udon. During Mashiro's route in the visual novel, it was revealed that Misaki initially hated udon. To overcome this hate, Misaki asked help from Mashiro's mom, Botan, having her make small portions of udon so that Misaki can get used to it.

Plot

Mashiro appears for the first time when Misaki Tobisawa's class ends and Mashiro runs to Misaki because she missed her, and she suggested to go eat Udon, Misaki says that she can't because she has to help Asuka Kurashina. Mashiro was mad at first but then said she was going with them.

Relationships

Misaki Tobisawa

Misaki is Mashiro's senpai, meaning "Upperclassman". Mashiro deeply cares, loves and respects Misaki to the point that she follows her almost everywhere; Mashiro even considered becoming a Fighter because Misaki was one. Mashiro can also get a little jealous sometimes when others become "too" close or friendly with her. Mashiro also usually takes care of Misaki in the mornings when she is sleepy. Mashiro often asks Misaki if she wants to go home with her, and Misaki also likes Mashiro's Udon shop. Misaki isn't as devoted as Mashiro, but they are on good terms and share a close bond. At first she wanted be nothing more than Misaki, but that changed when she met Rika.

Masaya Hinata

Mashiro is a little cautious of Masaya, but Masaya himself takes care of her. He is also the one who changed her Grav Shoes from fighter to speeder to fit her own style. Mashiro also gets a little mad at him whenever he looks too long at Misaki.

In the visual novel, Mashiro and Masaya Hinata became close after Mashiro gave a spare PSV(PSP parody) to Masaya for them to play MonEat(Monster Hunter parody). In the visual novel, Masaya changed her FC playstyle to speeder from fighter (Instead of Rika changing it in the anime).

In the visual novel, during her route, Masaya promised Mashiro two things:

Asuka Kurashina

Not much is known about their relationship, but Asuka thinks that Mashiro is cute and Mashiro sees her as just an air-headed girl. When Mashiro first saw Asuka she didn't really like her, but further in the anime she likes Asuka more.

In the visual novel, she looked up to Asuka further into the story because of Asuka's FC skills.

Rika Ichinose

At first there was not an interaction between the two, but Rika provided precisely what Mashiro needed to complete her training – a hands on, side by side instruction in the basics of the game, but also in flight, and Rika also convinced Mashiro to become a speeder like herself. They later become good friends, spending time with each other. Once they went to Mashiro's place, they formed a first-year alliance.

In the visual novel, they formed a speeder alliance instead of a first-year alliance.

Botan Arisaka

Botan is Mashiro's mother and the owner of the family restaurant "Mashiro Udon." Mashiro loves her mother very much and they share a loving parent-child relationship. But sometimes her mother irritates her, when she is complimenting her. Botan helped Misaki overcome her dislike of udon by making small portions for her to gradually get used to it.

Arika Okoze

Arika and Mashiro knew each other since they were little kids. Arika started FC when she heard that Mashiro started FC. She hoped that she and Mashiro would make it to the finals and compete against each other.

In the visual novel, Arika started FC way before Mashiro did, and she was also clearly better.
